UBUNTU -Free operating system

FAST, FREE and EASY TO USE, this is how the operating system, UBUNTU is introduced or rather marketed by its site (URL  http://www.ubuntu.com/desktop). Factually Ubuntu operating system is used by millions for  desktop PCs, laptops and servers around the world.
The word Ubuntu originates from Bantu Languages of Southern Africa {Source: http://www.slideshare.net/krishnabalan/history-of-ubuntu]. It started with Debian distributed under the GNU license and using the Linux kernel.First official; release happened in October , 2004. It gained popularity ever since. 2006 sees the 'Long Term Support' also called LTS release with a promise of 18 months free maintenance and security. Next LTS release was in 2008. It started gaining good share in 2009 onwards.Further information on Ubuntu can be gathered from the above link to understand the reason behind its popularity. 
a recent release caught my eye and I thought I shall be sharing it.

Ubuntu 13.04 release is happening this month with improvements designed to support its future as a phone, tablet and PC OS [Source: http://www.zdnet.com/ubuntu-13-04-release-laying-the-groundwork-for-os-phone-and-tablet-future-7000014461/?s_cid=e539&ttag=e539].

Ubuntu Server 13.04 is bundled with open source cloud management  software which will make it more useful.
